Fiber
Raspberries provide healthy fiber to food products. Fiber is a carbohydrate-like substance found only in plants. Dietary fiber helps maintain a healthy gastrointestinal tract and may help prevent certain types of cancers, decrease heart disease, reduce blood pressure, and reduce the chance of diabetes. It can also help to reduce blood cholesterol levels and lower the risk of heart disease. Even though red raspberries have a very thin skin, they are a good source of fiber and, like all fruits, an integral part of a healthy diet. The USDA recommended fiber intake is 20 to 35 grams per day. But on average, Americans get only about 15 grams per day.
